It's been a long wait since the release of From season 2 - but now the wait is on for season 3, which is currently filming!

The series, which airs on MGM+ in the US and Sky Sci-Fi in the UK, has been a hit with horror and sci-fi fans alike, with viewers gripped by the show's nightmarish premise – especially after that cliffhanger ending to season 2.

The show stars Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, and revolves around a sinister town that traps its residents, keeping them in close quarters with malevolent, nocturnal creatures.

It also acts as a puzzle box, with plenty of secrets revealed across the run while new mysteries are constantly thrown up, keeping fans constantly on their toes.

Lead actor Perrineau has been blessing fans with more details from set, answering questions in video form and telling us: "Everybody keeps asking me about season 3. Season 3 is coming! Trust me, it's coming. We are working our butts off."

When could From season 3 be released?

There's no confirmation just yet on when From season 3 could be released, but our guess is that it will be around summer 2024.

The team behind the show previously shared a cryptic hint, suggesting to us that some news is coming on 19th April.

On X (formerly known as Twitter) the show's official account responded to Taylor Swift's album announcement, confirming that The Tortured Poets Department is arriving on 19th April.

The From account simply shared a shot from the show – but fans reckon it means they're sharing an announcement date with Swift.

Meanwhile, Perrineau, who leads the cast of the show, has revealed that the show is currently being filmed.

Responding to a fan who feared the show would be cancelled, he said on X (formerly known as Twitter): "We started filming Season 3…. So I think you’re good."

From was previously renewed for a third season on MGM+.

Michael Wright, head of MGM+, said in a statement: "The first two seasons of From captivated critics and terrified and engaged fans, who have formed a thriving online community that is trying to put the pieces together week by week as the secrets of the nightmarish town — and possibly beyond — are slowly revealed.

"We can’t wait for fans to see the surprises ahead in season 3, which promises more scares and mysteries, but also more answers."

Perrineau celebrated the news, tweeting: "Here we go #FROMily Season 3 comin at ya!"
