Netflix Action Movie 'Havoc' With Tom Hardy Finally Gets Release Update

We finally know when (roughly) Venom star and Oscar-nominee Tom Hardy will smash his way onto Netflix in the adrenaline-fueled first trailer for the long-awaited action thriller, Havoc . Directed by Gareth Evans, who has proven his unmatched affinity for the action genre with the likes of The Raid and The Raid 2, as well as the crime series Gangs of London, Havoc finds Hardy charging his way into the criminal underworld as a world-weary detective on the hunt for a politician’s estranged son.

After waiting several years, Netflix has at last revealed that the action movie is ready to go and “will premiere this spring” on the streaming platform. The exciting revelation comes courtesy of Variety and their report into what Netflix has on offer in 2025, including updates on Knives Out 3, Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein, and The Old Guard 2.

Written and directed by Gareth Evans, Tom Hardy will be joined in this action-packed adventure by Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker and Justified star Timothy Olyphant, with the rest of the supporting cast being comprised of Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Sunny Pang, and Michelle Waterson. 'Havoc' Has the Potential To Be a Modern Action Movie Classic

After being announced (and getting every action movie fan on the planet excited) back in 2021, years went by before we heard, well, anything about Havoc. Thankfully, that has all changed at last, with the movie now set for release on the streaming platform this year. The combination of Oscar-nominated Hollywood hardman Tom Hardy and The Raid director Gareth Evans is a match made in action movie heaven, and the actor has since called the movie "good high-end face-kicking" and heaped praise on the filmmaker, saying, "It's real genre. If you're gonna do martial arts, then Gareth's your guy."

Well-known for his ability and willingness to throw himself head first into the action thanks to roles in the likes of Mad Max: Fury Road and Warrior, as well as for his intense screen presence, Hardy’s bruised detective at the center of Havoc sounds like a role tailor-made for the Venom and Inception star.
