Apple TV has confirmed that the fourth and final season of its Rebecca Ferguson-led sci-fi series “Silo” has wrapped filming, marking the end of production on the show’s final two seasons.
The third and fourth seasons were shot nearly back-to-back, with the third season wrapping in May last year.
While the first two seasons adapted the first book in Hugh Howey’s novel trilogy, “Wool,” the third and fourth will adapt the remaining two books – “Shift” and “Dust” – thus completing the full story.
The series follows the last few thousand people on Earth living in a mile-deep home, protecting them from the toxic, deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built, and anyone who tries to find out faces fatal consequences.
The third season will shift the focus primarily to the past, with Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick starring as key people involved in the building of the silos. The fourth season then shifts back to the silos themselves and events going on there.
Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Steve Zahn and Iain Glen co-star in the series which hasn’t announced a Season 3 airdate as yet beyond sometime this year.
