A new update on Disney+‘s Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 has surfaced, putting it one step closer to its release date being set. It comes from two creatives involved with the fantasy adventure series. The third installment was confirmed ahead of the second’s late 2025 premiere.
Co-created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the show is based on the former’s popular book series of the same name. It is the second major live-action adaptation of the novels, following the two films starring Logan Lerman.
Percy Jackson Season 3 wraps filming
Percy Jackson Season 3 has wrapped filming, according to two members of the creative team.
Albert Kim, who serves as executive producer and writer on the series, confirmed that production on the third installment has wrapped. In addition, he revealed that the last scene was filmed in a cargo elevator.
Meanwhile, Jeannie Chow, who is a hairstylist on the production team, shared a story on Instagram, signifying the end of Season 3’s production.
Season 3 was first announced in March 2025 by Rick Riordan on his website, and production began in August 2025.
Percy Jackson Season 3 will be coming out in 2026, but an exact release date has yet to be revealed. However, as the past seasons both premiered in December, the third installment may also drop in that month.
The third season will be adapting the third book, The Titan’s Curse. Accordingly, the story will see the titular protagonist and his allies go on a dangerous quest to rescue Annabeth Chase and the Greek goddess of hunting, Artemis, both of whom have been captured by the titan Atlas. Fans can expect the new season to be heavily faithful to the source material, according to lead actor Walker Scobell. He teased in an interview with The Direct that it was “the most book-accurate season [they’ve] had yet.”
James Bobin confirmed to Collider that he will direct the first two episodes of Season 3, continuing the pattern he established with the previous two seasons.
