After a detention of a many months, Nvidia has eventually released the RTX 3090 Ti — the newultra-enthusiast class plates card from the green platoon. Described by its generators as"a monster of a GPU", we can attest to that after seeing what third- party manufacturers have stuck on the full GA102 GPU within to keep it cool.
The RTX 3090 Ti is analogous to the GeForce RTX 3090 in numerous ways, but it does offer a2.4 increase in CUDA Cores from to. That brings with it another two RT Cores and eight further Tensor Cores, for a slight increase in shaft dogging and machine literacy performance.
Rather you will find the maturity of the performance of this card comes from faster timepiece pets. The RTX 3090 Ti runs at a base of MHz and will boost to MHz as standard. Chunkier third- party models, similar as the Various iGame Neptune — a GPU with its own liquid cooling circle attached — will boost a farther 45 MHz.
We have been playing with the Asus TUF RTX 3090 Ti OC card, and that is rated, in OC Mode, to run at MHz. Though it's actually been running faster than that in our benchmarking — hitting an normal of MHz in our 4K Metro Exodus torture test. And at 1080p the Asus card will run above the 2 GHz mark on average.
The 24 GB of GDDR6X memory on the RTX 3090 Ti will also run at 21 Gbps, a step-up from the19.5 Gbps memory on the RTX 3090.
Though these speed boosts are thirsty work, and every RTX 3090 Ti model we have heard of from Various creeps up to a whopping 480W. Though models from other manufacturers may sit at 450W. That is a serious step-up from the RTX 3090 at 350W, and will generally bear an 850W PSU in order to run, though Asus is suggesting a W PSU as a recommended spec.
The advanced- end OC models can coil up to 510W at times, which really makes for a astoundingly power-empty card. As a result, larger coolers, indeed liquid coolers, are commonplace across the RTX 3090 Ti range we have seen so far. Our test sample has been beating out at 492W, which is still enough thirsty.
Are the performance gains worth it for all that redundant heat and material? I mean, it would be relatively absurd making a 29 – 46 vault in power draw without serious return, right? With our RTX 3090 Ti TUF, still, the returns clearly are not there in gaming terms; we have been seeing the performance delta over the RTX 3090 Founders Edition to be just 5-16 at stylish.
And remember, that is with an overclocked interpretation.
This is why Nvidia has been so keen to talk up its professional uses for its new card. despite still situating it as a GeForce card and not as a Titan. Throw it at some Blender picture and it'll still fly compared to other RTX 30-series cards, but in gaming it really is a question of slight returns.

In the UK, the RTX 3090 Ti is going for around£, with high- end, liquid- cooled performances going for around£ if not further. That roughly aligns with the$ price over in the US that was preliminarily rumoured, though you'll find the larger models dealing overhead of that.
At least it does not appear to be priced anywhere near to the$ price label formerly posited by early rosters, though those price markers really were unthinkable. That being said, we do know that the pricing from at least one seller has dropped some$ 800 in the once couple of weeks, so the launch price for third- party cards would have been far advanced once upon a time.
Still, it's a lot of plutocrat for an RTX 30-series card in the same time that we are awaiting Nvidia (and AMD) to release a new GPU generation. Of course, that is all subject to change, but this may well be one last high- performance, high- power hurrah for Ampere.
