There’s an outbreak in the outback in the upcoming killer kangaroo creature feature The Red, and Bloody Disgusting has been provided with a first-look sneak peek this afternoon.
In the film, which is now in post production, “Obsessed with living up to her dead father’s legacy a young sheriff finds her mettle tested when locals are found ripped to shreds.”
The Red is a feature expansion of Ryan Coonan’s 2014 smash festival short film Waterborne, and it’s directed by Coonan and written by Coonan and Richard Barcaricchio.
Micheal Biehn, Tess Haubrich, Aaron Pederson and Angie Milliken star.
You can watch the original short film below, which at the time was said to be “the world’s first zombie kangaroo film, and a prequel for a feature film currently in development.”
Nine years – and 1.6 million views on YouTube! – later, Waterborne has finally become feature film The Red. Stay tuned for more on this one as we learn it, including a release date.
