Alien: Romulus—producer Ridley Scott’s summer movie horror hit—is coming soon to digital streaming.
Directed and co-written by Fede Alvarez, Alien: Romulus was released in theaters on August 16. The seventh film in the Alien franchise—which kicked off with Scott’s 1979 classic hit—Alien: Romulus is set between the events of the first film and its 1986 sequel Aliens.
In the film, a group of young mining colonists plot a way to escape their dreary confines by scavenging an abandoned space outpost for cryo pods and other materials to make a nine-year trek to a better life.
However, when the group inadvertently frees hundreds of Xenomorphs aboard the ship, they all fight to survive while facing off against the deadliest alien species in the galaxy.
According to When to Stream, Alien: Romulus will debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, October 15.
While When to Stream is typically accurate with its release date reports, the streaming tracker did not note whether Alien: Romulus distributor 20th Century Studios has announced or confirmed the release date of the film on PVOD, so the date is subject to change.
Pre-order prices typically reflect the purchase price of a movie and digital rentals are $5 less. Rentals are good for a 48-hour time period, which does not begin until a viewer starts watching the film.
