Daniela Melchior Joins Paul Rudd & Jack Black In Sony’s ‘Anaconda’

A new actress has slithered in to join Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s remake of 1997 giant snake caper, Anaconda.

That actress is Daniela Melchior, best known for her role as Ratcatcher 2 in 2021 DC movie The Suicide Squad, and most recently Jake Gyllenhaal’s love interest in the Road House remake

Anaconda was announced last month, and according to the first reports, it’s more of a meta spin on the original movie - sort of like Tropic Thunder meets a classic creature feature.

"Black would play an erstwhile director, a man stuck in his job as a wedding videographer, while Rudd would play an actor who did a stint on a cop show but sees his Hollywood dreams slipping further and further away,” writes THR.

Together, they head into the rainforest to film a tribute to Anaconda before discovering themselves in a real-life version of it, complete with actual giant snakes and even cannibals.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent director Tom Gormican is set to helm the Anaconda reboot. Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz and Jon Voight starred in the original, but there's no word yet on them being on board for the new one.
