The Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious is getting a spinoff series featuring one original star. The news comes after the original show ended its run on Nickelodeon 12 years ago.
Originally, Victorious ran for four seasons between 2010 and 2013. Per Deadline, it now has a second spinoff in development with Daniella Monet set to reprise her role as Trina Vega. The project is in development under the working title Hollywood Arts, which could end up changing. Casting is now said to be underway to find co-stars for Monet, and as of now, no other cast members from Victorious are reported as being involved. It would seem that special appearances are not out of the question, but nothing is confirmed.
In the spinoff, Trina will be "returning to her old stomping grounds as the newest teacher at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school." Money will be serving as a producer for the project in addition to starring. Victorious writer Jake Farrow is also returning as a writer and executive producer, serving in those roles with Samantha Martin (Henry Danger, The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder).
Who Else Might Return for Hollywood Arts?
Controversial TV producer Dan Schneider created the original series, but he will not be involved with the spinoff. Schneider's run working for Nickelodeon came to an end in 2018 following allegations of mistreatment towards cast and crew members working on his shows. Some of these allegations were detailed in the docuseries Quiet on Set. Notably, Schneider is suing the producers of the docuseries for defamation.Source: Deadline
