A New “Knight Rider” Film In The Works

The creators of “Cobra Kai” are bringing KITT back to life.

Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald are in talks for a film adaptation of the 1980s action drama series “Knight Rider” about a computerized talking car.

The trio would write the screenplay and produce, with Hurwitz and Schlossberg in early talks to direct.

Also producing would be Gary Barber, Chris Stone, Kelly McCormick and David Leitch.

David Hasselhoff starred in the original NBC series as Michael Knight, a detective who becomes an agent and is partnered with KITT, a modified, artificially intelligent and indestructible Trans Am.

Together, the two sped head-on to fight criminals who operate above the law. Prolific TV producer Glen A. Larson created the show known for its memorable theme and car.

Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider penned a previous attempt at a film adaptation.
