“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 3 is rounding out its cast.
Variety has confirmed that Dafne Keen and Saara Chaudry have landed recurring roles in the third season of the Disney+ show, which is based on the Rick Riordan book series of the same name. Keen will star as Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon. Chaudry will play Zoë Nightshade, one of Artemis’ lieutenants.
Neither Keen nor Chaudry is a stranger at the Mouse House. Keen is best known for playing Laura/X-23 in the “X-Men” film “Logan,” a role she reprised in the film “Deadpool and Wolverine.” “Logan” was produced before the “X-Men” franchise was acquired by Disney in its merger with 21st Century Fox, while “Deadpool and Wolverine” marked her official debut in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. She also starred in the “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte” at Disney+. Chaudry previously appeared in the Disney+ shows “The Muppets Mayhem” and “The Mysterious Benedict Society.”
The official description for Artemis reads, “She prefers the freedom of the outdoors to the politics and formality of Olympus. Her immortal Hunters are her constant companions, and she has little contact with mortals, making her a bit out of touch with modern human culture. She is regal and an honorable fighter who will stand up to grave challenges.”
Nightshade is said to be “Loyal Lieutentant to Artemis and first among the immortal Hunters, Zoë Nightshade has been at Artemis’s side for more than 2,000 years. She is a strong warrior and sometimes overly serious in ways that amuse the demigods, but she is also a crucial quest member, willing to strive and sacrifice for the good of all.”
Keen is repped by Independent Talent Group, UTA, Liebman Entertainment, Goodman Genow, and Public Eye Communications. Chaudry is repped by The Characters Talent Agency and Innovative Artists.
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” was renewed for Season 3 ahead of the Season 2 premiere, which is scheduled for Dec. 10. Production is currently underway on Season 3 in Vancouver. Keen and Chaudry are the latest new additions to Season 3 alongside Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie, who will play Nico di Angelo and Bianca.
Season 2 of the hit series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer.
Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will be based on the second book in the series titled “The Sea of Monsters.” The season will follow the events after Camp Half-Blood’s protective border is breached, where Percy will embark on a journey into the Sea of Monsters to save Grover and find the one thing that can save Camp Half-Blood: the Golden Fleece.
