Korean Movie Spin-Off ‘Extraction: Taigo’ Reportedly Casts Blackpink’s Lisa

Not only is Netflix continuing to expand its Extraction franchise with a third installment and a television spin-off, but a Korean spin-off titled Extraction: Taigo is reportedly in development. The film will reportedly star Squid Game’s Lee Jin Wook, Train to Busan’s Ma Dong Seok, and Blackpink’s Lisa. Filming is expected to get underway in October 2025.

Extraction has been one of Netflix’s major success stories and the Russo Brothers’ most successful project since Avengers: Endgame. Chris Hemsworth continues to prove to be one of Hollywood’s most popular leading men, and Sam Hargrave has shone as an excellent action movie director, which has ultimately led Extraction and Extraction 2 to attract a huge audience, with hundreds of millions of views for each movie.

Naturally, such a success has led Netflix to expand the Extraction franchise even further, with a television series in development and Chris Hemsworth returning to reprise his role in the third installment. However, the film franchise will reportedly go international with a Korean spin-off in development at Netflix.

As reported by Naver, the Korean spin-off titled Extraction: Taigo (Tigo is a direct translation we’ve also seen) will be directed by Lee Sang Yong, director of The Outlaws 2, and written by Cha Woo Jin. Big Punch Pictures, B&C, and Nova Film are the production companies producing the feature. How the film ties into the Extraction universe has yet to be revealed.
