Avengers: Secret Wars gets another returning Marvel Cinematic Universe cast member as the Phase 6 finale gets closer. The MCU timeline is currently working on its remaining projects in The Multiverse Saga, and more details are finally starting to emerge on the next Avengers films.
ScreenRant's Liam Crowley recently interviewed Letitia Wright for her movie, Highway to the Moon, which marked her directorial debut. The Shuri star was asked about Black Panther 3, which Ryan Coogler recently confirmed is the next film he is working on. Wright stated first, "I have no clue. All I know is that we just finished Secret Wars, and that was really great."
However, she quickly corrected herself, "Doomsday, sorry. I confuse the two. I confused the two," before going on to say, "That's what I have to film next, Secret Wars. But Doomsday, we finished that, and that was very great."
She added how she "had a lot of time, a lot of fun on that, so I'm excited for everybody to see that." In terms of Black Panther 3, Wright added, "And I'm going to patiently wait for my director to come back to me about anything to do with Black Panther. But so far Doomsday was really, really fun."
Wright went on to talk about the new experience of being part of the Avengers this time around compared to Phase 3. As she has taken on the Black Panther mantle, she explained how the on-screen responsibility felt different, saying, "Always. Always. It's an honor, but it's also a tribute and a legacy for all that we've done in the first films, and I carry my brother every time. It's a big, big, huge honor for me. I'm excited for the growth of Shuri to be seen in these next few films."
Letitia Wright: I love stories. I love the way the Marvel universe just expands and twists and turns, and it's just one of those twists and turns, and let's see what happens. I am just excited about it. I'm excited about the growth of this franchise. I love this franchise so, so much. Yeah, you just have to come to the cinemas, Liam.
Filming on Avengers: Secret Wars is set to begin in the summer of 2026, with Anthony and Joe Russo returning to direct the highly anticipated team-up film. With Wright's comments, she is one of the handful of cast members confirmed for the Phase 6 entry.
More details on the Avengers: Secret Wars cast will likely be revealed in 2026, once they get closer to principal photography kicking off. Avengers: Secret Wars opens in theaters on December 17, 2027.
