Dan Levy’s Netflix Crime Comedy Gets Title, Casts Jack Innanen, Elizabeth Perkins and More

Dan Levy‘s family crime comedy series for Netflix has officially been titled “Big Mistakes.” The show began production in New Jersey and added a handful of new cast members.

Starring alongside the previously announced Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf are series regulars Jack Innanen (“Adults”), Boran Kuzum (“Thank You, Next”) and Abby Quinn (“Hell of a Summer”). Plus, recurring cast members include Elizabeth Perkins (“Weeds”), Jacob Gutierrez (“Dear Edward”), Joe Barbara (“Just in Time”), Josh Fadem (“Better Call Saul”) and Mark Ivanir (“Emilia Pérez”).

“Big Mistakes” follows two “deeply incapable siblings” (Ortega and Metcalf) who are blackmailed into the dangerous world of organized crime.

“Schitt’s Creek” co-creator and star Levy also appears in the eight-episode series in addition to serving as showrunner and executive producer. “Big Mistakes” is co-created by Levy and executive producer Rachel Sennott. Anne-Marie McGintee is also an EP for Not a Real Production Company.

“Big Mistakes” marks a continuation of Levy’s creative partnership with Netflix via his Not a Real Production Company banner, which produced the Max baking series “The Big Brunch,” as well as the 2023 dramedy film “Good Grief” starring Levy alongside Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel and Luke Evans. “Big Mistakes” is the first series from Levy’s overall television deal with Netflix. It’s his second original scripted series following the success of his awards darling “Schitt’s Creek.”

Not a Real Production Company is also producing an upcoming documentary about the 1990s music festival Lilith Fair, which is set to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival.
