Football fans will be tuning in this Sunday, February 8, to watch the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, but they won’t be alone. Many cinephiles will also be waiting to see new trailers or sneak peeks at highly anticipated 2026 movies. From Toy Story 5 to The Odyssey to Avengers: Doomsday, 2026 could be the best financial year at the box office since before the pandemic. Films like Markiplier’s Iron Lung and Sam Raimi’s Send Help have already set the ball rolling. So, which new movie trailers could premiere during Super Bowl 2026?
During last year’s Super Bowl, people watching at home got new looks at Marvel’s Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Jurassic World Rebirth. Of course, there was also a CGI pitch invasion by none other than Stitch himself to promote the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, which went on to become the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2025, with over $1 billion worldwide. Other movies, such as the live-action How to Train Your Dragon remake and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, also debuted 30-second spots during the big game. For Super Bowl 2026, a 30-second spot is estimated to cost between $8 to $10 million, and that’s just the fee to air on live television.
Here is a comprehensive list of which new movie trailers to expect and not to expect for Super Bowl 2026!
1. Scream 7 (Already Released)
Release Date: February 27, 2026.
Directed by Kevin Williamson.
Screenplay by Kevin Williamson & Guy Busick.
Story by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick.
Main Cast: Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, & Matthew Lillard.
Distributor: Paramount Pictures.
Paramount has already released the “Big Game spot” for Scream 7 ahead of the Super Bowl. Promotion for Scream 7 has been rather minimal, especially in terms of revealing footage; the film has had only one trailer, and this new spot has been one of the few major pieces of marketing since then. Paramount is not expected to debut any other movie trailers during the 2026 Super Bowl. However, it’s still possible they will drop a surprise spot for Street Fighter, similar to what the studio did at last year’s Game Awards.
2. Project Hail Mary
Release Date: March 20, 2026.
Directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller.
Screenplay by Drew Goddard.
Based on Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
Main Cast: Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, & Milana Vayntrub.
Distributor: Amazon MGM Studios.
Amazon MGM Studios has already announced that fans of Andy Weir‘s best-selling science fiction novel, Project Hail Mary, can anticipate both a 30-second Super Bowl spot and the final trailer on Sunday. The film will hit theaters nationwide on March 20, 2026. Additionally, it will be Amazon MGM’s second IMAX release of the year, after the Chris Pratt-led AI thriller Mercy.
Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, best known for spearheading Sony’s animated Spider-Verse franchise, and starring Ryan Gosling, Project Hail Mary follows science teacher Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spaceship with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory slowly returns, he must solve the riddle of a mysterious substance that’s causing the sun to die. More details about his crucial mission come to light, calling on his scientific training and sheer ingenuity… but he may not have to do it alone.
3. Michael

Public interest in director Antoine Fuqua‘s long-awaited Michael Jackson biopic is finally ramping up after a nearly 2-year delay. Lionsgate has stuck to its commitment to release the film, starring Michael’s real nephew Jaafar Jackson, in theaters on April 24, 2026. Michael received a new trailer earlier this week, following a teaser that premiered during the 2026 Grammys. To some people, that’s more than enough for one week. But this party is not stopping anytime soon, as Lionsgate is likely to air a Super Bowl spot on Sunday. While it’s unclear whether any new footage will be shown in the 30-second spot, it is a clear sign that marketing for Michael is in full swing.
4. Hoppers

Pixar Animation’s latest original film is a notable creative swing for the studio. Despite Elio bombing at the box office, original animation saw significant growth in 2025, driven by the global success of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. Pixar’s Hoppers is showing early signs of strong potential, with tracking estimates currently at a $50 million domestic opening weekend. Directed by Daniel Chong, creator of Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears, Hoppers centers on the eccentric, animal-loving teenager Mabel, who uses highly experimental technology to embody a robotic beaver and thwart a construction company’s plot to destroy the local animal habitat
5. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Release Date: April 1, 2026.
Directed by Aaron Horvath & Michael Jelenic.
Written by Matthew Fogel.
Main Cast: Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Brie Larson, & Kevin Michael Richardson.
Distributor: Universal Pictures.
The sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros Movie is quickly approaching with an April 1st release date. A second trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie premiered two weeks ago during a Nintendo Direct event, coinciding with the AFC Championship game. This is when fans first saw the fan-favorite character Yoshi in his new animated form, and the film’s upcoming “Big Game spot” should feature additional glimpses of the iconic green dinosaur. Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jack Black are all returning for the sequel and are now joined by the likes of Oscar-winner Brie Larson as Rosalina and filmmaker Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.
6. The Mandalorian & Grogu
Release Date: May 22, 2026.
Directed by Jon Favreau.
Written by Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni.
Based on characters created by George Lucas.
Main Cast: Pedro Pascal, Jonny Coyne, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, Steve Blum, & Jonny Coyne.

Lucasfilm is finally releasing a new Star Wars movie in theaters — almost 7 years after The Rise of Skywalker debuted to overwhelmingly negative critical reception, but nevertheless still carried over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The Mandalorian and Grogu, directed by Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal, will kick off the studio’s next era, with the 50th anniversary re-release of Star Wars following in February 2027, and then Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter in May 2027. The last Star Wars film to secure a Super Bowl spot was Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018, which had a similar late-May release date. Fans can look forward to both a 30-second game spot and a new trailer online.
7. Disclosure Day
Release Date: June 12, 2026.
Directed by Steven Spielberg.
Screenplay by David Koepp.
Story by Steven Spielberg.
Main Cast: Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, Elizabeth Marvel, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, & Michael Gaston.
Distributor: Universal Pictures.
Steven Spielberg is returning to the Super Bowl for the first time in years with his latest blockbuster, Disclosure Day. Widely seen as his return to the masses after his movie-musical adaptation of West Side Story and semi-autobiographical piece The Fabelmans, Disclosure Day is expected to debut only a new 30-second teaser during the 2026 Super Bowl. The next full trailer is likely still a few weeks away, given its mid-June theatrical release spot. Backed by an all-star cast, the movie’s mysterious plot centers on a whistleblower who triggers global chaos by revealing proof of alien life to humanity.
8. Toy Story 5
Release Date: June 19, 2026.
Directed by Andrew Stanton & McKenna Harris.
Written by Andrew Stanton.
Main Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee, Blake Clark, Tony Hale, Ernie Hudson, Craig Robinson, Conan O’Brien, & Anna Faris.
Distributor: Walt Disney Studios.
It’s been 7 years since 2019’s Toy Story 4, and although some fans think that this franchise has continued past its expiration date, there is still plenty of buzz surrounding Pixar’s next sequel. Toy Story 5 reunites Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and the gang to battle children’s screen time, embodied by a frog-like tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee). They have major reinforcements with writer-director Andrew Stanton at the helm, who helped write every previous Toy Story film, but is perhaps better known for directing Wall-E and Finding Nemo. Pixar has released only a teaser for the sequel at this point, so Super Bowl 2026 would be the perfect place to launch a full trailer.
9. Minions 3

Release Date: July 1, 2026.
Directed by Pierre Coffin.
Written by Brian Lynch.
Main Cast: Pierre Coffin.
Distributor: Universal Pictures.
The biggest surprise to many moviegoers might be the marketing launch of Illumination’s Minions 3. It’s gone mostly under the radar so far, but it could make a big splash at Super Bowl 2026 with the first-ever TV spot and a first full trailer. Minions: The Rise of Gru became a viral internet sensation, prompting the film to gross nearly $1 billion. Director Pierre Coffin, who also voices the Minions, will return for Minions 3 alongside screenwriter Brian Lynch. No other cast members or plot details have been announced yet. Online whispers suggest that the third movie will shift focus to an all-new trio of Minions on a separate adventure from their group.
10. Don’t Expect to See Anything From These Movies
While there will probably be a couple of huge surprises during Super Bowl 2026, certain blockbusters will almost definitely not be debuting any new looks. This includes Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday. Aside from the hefty advertisement costs, it can be speculated that Marvel Studios is satisfied with the massive attention they have garnered from the 4 recent Doomsday teasers. Sony, on the other hand, has skipped the Super Bowl as a marketing option in recent years.
Warner Bros. made a rare Super Bowl appearance a few years ago with the first trailer for The Flash, yet has not returned since and is not predicted to this year. This means no new footage for Dune 3, Mortal Kombat 2, or The Bride. However, Supergirl will have a presence at the Puppy Bowl, similar to last year’s Superman marketing. Don’t expect much new footage there, either. Finally, rumors persist that Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey may feature a 30-second teaser during Super Bowl 2026, though it will likely be the same teaser shown last month during the AFC Championship game.
