"Avengers: Doomsday," arriving at the end of the year, is poised to reshape the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing new characters and taking familiar heroes in fresh directions. Now, several new rumors may offer clues about what lies ahead.
First, prominent entertainment scooper MyTimeToShineHello claims that the fifth "Spider-Man" movie will introduce the live-action Miles Morales. That does not mean Tom Holland will be leaving the MCU anytime soon, however. The actor reportedly just signed a lucrative new deal with Marvel Studios, making an exit unlikely in the near future.
Beyond Miles’ potential arrival, MyTimeToShineHello also reports that Mckenna Grace, who played a young Carol Danvers in the first "Captain Marvel," could return as an entirely new character. Marvel is said to be considering Grace for a major role with a substantial future in the franchise.
As for returning characters, fellow entertainment scooper James Mack recently reported that Star-Lord, Silver Surfer and the yet-to-debut Nova would anchor the cast of a future movie centered on a new cosmic team. Meanwhile, Star-Lord’s former crew, the Guardians of the Galaxy, could headline a new animated series for Disney+.
