When he first surfaced in front of the gawk, The Void attached itself to the idol, showing him his entire life flashing before his eyes. In a heartbreaking scene, The Void tells gawk that he'll destroy and" detest you ever because the Sentry loves you." gawk has always had trouble trusting others, as, despite his heroic conduct, he was frequently still seen as a monster. still, Sentry was different, as he came his stylish friend and teammate in the fight against wrong. He admired and loved the gawk for who he was as they made a important tandem. So, seeing Sentry transfigure into The Void and come his topmost agony made gawk hysterical , as he knew the greatness the idol was able of and what the contrary of that could mean for the Marvel Universe. 

Eventually, Sentry getting The Void is one of the gawk's darkest recollections. While his mind would be wiped of his fellowship with the idol- and he'd elude him in Planet gawk and on the punishers- gawk will always be visited by his topmost fellowship turning into one of his darkest moments as a idol. gawk was hysterical of The Void not just because of his powers, but what he represented.
