The FX comedy “Adults” has been renewed for Season 2.
The ensemble series originally debuted on FX back in May, with Season 2 set to air in 2026. The series stars Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele and hails from creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw.
“Ben and Rebecca are incredibly talented writers, and they have expertly and hilariously captured the experience of being a young adult in today’s world,” said Kate Lambert, executive vice president of development for FX Entertainment. “The entire cast—Malik, Lucy, Jack, Amita and Owen—is exceptional in bringing it to life in a way that has truly connected with its audience.”
The cast of the series also shared news of the renewal in a video announcement, which can be seen below.
The official logline for the series states that the show “follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither ‘good’ nor ‘people’ yet. Samir (Elassal), Billie (Freyer), Paul Baker (Innanen), Issa (Rao) and Anton (Thiele) are five friends crashing together in Samir’s childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes.”
Kronengold and Shaw are executive producers on “Adults” in addition to writing and creating the series. Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel and Rob Rosell also executive produce. FX Productions is the studio.
Kronengold and Shaw were writers for two years on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” on which they were the youngest writers in the show’s history. They also published the book “Naked in the Rideshare: Stories of Gross Miscalculations,” a collection of comedy short stories, with HarperCollins in November 2023.
