'The Conjuring: Last Rites' Director Michael Chaves Confirms There Will Be No More 'Conjuring' Movies

The Conjuring: Last Rites director Michael Chaves says the horror film series is officially “done.”

The filmmaker previously directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II, so he’s certainly become a staple within the franchise. Speaking with ComicBook.com recently, he confirmed that even though Last Rites has performed well financially, plans haven’t changed to end the saga.

“It is done. This is the final chapter … that’s why we called it Last Rites. It’s the last one. There’s no other Conjuring movies. It is absolutely the end,” he said.

However, there have been reports previously that the universe will continue, likely through spinoffs and The Conjuring TV show in development at HBO Max.

Michael‘s comments are very definitive, but they are likely only referring to the main four movies featuring actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as demonologists Ed and Lorraine WarrenTheir saga might be over, but it remains to be seen if we’ll see more from AnnabelleThe Nun, or other potential spinoffs.
