Scarlett Johansson’s The Batman 2 Role Reportedly Revealed

After years of silence, The Batman 2 is finally ramping up its pre-production ahead of entering filming in 2026, and Scarlett Johansson has now been named as one of the major potential additions to the sequel (via Nexus Point News). Johansson, who parted ways with the MCU after Black Widow and had a legal dispute with Disney, is reportedly in talks to star in the long-awaited sequel.

According to Jeff Sneider, she is not being considered for a gender-swapped version of Harvey Dent, but rather for the role of his wife, Gilda Gold, which could introduce a new dynamic to Bruce’s story.

Earlier Reports Suggested Scarlett Johansson as Bruce’s Love Interest?

Although it’s his rogues’ gallery that often gets the spotlight, Batman also boasts a pretty notable roster when it comes to love interests, be it Talia Al Ghul, Vicki Vale, or Silver St. Cloud. And even though the details regarding Johansson’s role are limited, reports now suggest she is being considered to play Gilda Gold, the wife of Harvey Dent, rather than a direct romantic interest for Bruce Wayne, according to those familiar with Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin’s script.

Also, earlier reports suggested that Johansson could headline in The Batman Epic Crime Saga are Andrea Beaumont (aka The Phantasm), Pamela Isley (aka Poison Ivy), Vicki Vale, or Julie Madison. What elevates the prospect of this speculation is the reports surrounding Kravitz’s involvement in the sequel.

Scooper Jeff Sneider previously alleged that Kravitz, who played Catwoman in the first movie, was in the dark about the sequel, stating, “She’s not in it, and she doesn’t know anything.”

Whether this will be the case or not, especially given the Marvel star’s packed schedule, remains to be seen. What do you think? Comment below!
